Carl Porter is first of all a bird hunter. As a "Hunting
Dog Trainer" he understands what a foot hunting bird hunter wants and needs from
his bird dog. An obedient well trained dog that handles easily, points birds,
holds birds and retrieves to hand. He trains all pointing and flushing breeds
for the devoted outdoorsman. When your dog is finished it will respond to
whistle and verbal commands, be controllable in and out of the field, be steady
to wing and shot and retrieve to hand. He trains personal Hunting Dogs full time
on site and also competes young Field Trial prospects on a local level. Carl has
competed as an avid Amateur Field Trial handler at the local, Regional, and
National Field Trial levels before turning pro. He was Eldon Hongo's assistant
from 1996 to 2002 and now works in conjunction with Eldon to train and handle competition Field Trial dogs during the Field Trial Season.

Carl starts 4-6 month old puppies for initial developing in our "Head Start Program", all the way to finishing your hunting dog steady to "Wing and Shot". He requires that all owners or handlers of the dog be an active participant in the training before you go home with your new Hunting Partner so the changeover is smooth and
successful. All commands will be taught to the dog and the handler alike to insure a first-class enjoyable hunting experience. Then when you begin hunting together you and your dog will be hunting as a team.

Eldon Hongo begins training your puppies, derby dogs and broke dogs for AKC Field Trials and American Field Events all the way to training for National level AKC and American Field competition in Gun Dog, Shooting Dog and All Age Dog events.
Eldon has been training Hunting and Field Trial dogs for over 20 years. He is currently campaigning and competing on National, Regional, and local AKC mid-west levels. He is the Trainer and Handler of the 2005 National Gun Dog Championship (non-ret) and the 2005 AKC National Futurity 4th place winner. "Slick Dixie's Tarkus" owned by Heinz and Sue Ahlman, the 2004 NGSPA Open Shooting Dog and Amateur Shooting Dog of the Year. The 2004 AKC National Futurity 1st & 3rd placements, the 2003 NGSPA National Shooting Dog Champion Runner-up, including the 2002 and 2003 AKC National Gun Dog Championships. Eldon earned the 2004 Purina Handler of the Year award. He also did the initial training for the 2002 AKC National Amateur Gun Dog Champion, the 2002 AKC National All Age Runner-up, and the 2002 National All Pointing Breed Gun Dog Champion Runner-up along with numerous Regional and Species NGSPA Championships and Derby Classics.

He also trained and handled NGDC/FC/Ch HK'S Rockin Rocky owned by Roy Yamamoto to his Field Championship, his
Runner up in the Region 17 2002 Shooting Dog Championship, 2003 Region 12 Shooting Dog Championship
and recently in April of 2005 Eldon won the 2005 National Gun Dog Championship in Marsing ID with "Rocky" to finish this great dogs Field Trial Career.
