Bob and Sandy Deiterings "Huachuka Loki" wins the Open All Age at the Southland Weimaraner Clubs trial on the weekend of October 25-26 2008. He did a real fine job, in spite of very difficult warm, dry, scenting conditions, of hunting independently while staying in sight of the handler and judges for most of the brace. He broke away in all age style, disappearing to the front, only to reappear to the front as we made the first turn. Again he ran front and once again disappeared to the front as we caught up to him at the next turn. After watering him he decided to really put the peddle to the metal and was rounded up way out front after we made the turn by great scouting from Mike Vaz. After catching up to us he passed us and was found on point about 50 yards to our left and over a small knoll. All we saw was a dust cloud and when it all cleared, there he was standing high and tight. After the bird was flushed and all manners we intact he finished strong with a nice forward race to win the heat. This was Loki's first time down this year and we are hoping this is what's in store for him this season.
